DOE and Optimization
A well suited optimization has two steps: First, we must specify some quality goals such as for example reducing cost or weight. The next step is then to run iterations of tests with different parameter values such as those for thickness and material of parts. In this way both the customer and the manufacturer can benefit from the optimization.
Established numerical and mathematical methods can be used to find the best possible combination of parameters. These methods might include Statistical or Machine Learning based methods in Simulation Engineering.
